The commercial district has been fully dug out – the aboveground workshops have been broken down, and everything is in the process of being moved below ground. Where it belongs.

Excavation of the farm has been completed. One minor downside is its proximity to the fishery – you can hear Iden cackling as he removes the heads from his catches. through the ceiling.
Once Oddom finishes the lever work, in accordance with ancient tradition, everyone in the colony will be given a ‘holiday’ to make bodies available in the event of accidental flooding.
Depsite our best efforts, cats keep getting into the chamber. Perhaps an onrush of water might convince them to leave it alone?

We’ve fashioned ourselves a crude dormitory, and I’ve begun taking stock of what materials are recoverable to us from the wreckage of the cart.
Dast and Ush have begun digging out what will be something of a commercial boulevard – though much of it will wait until we’ve gotten some rudimentary farm up and running. Assuming that the river ever thaws.

Just outside of the pit Iden crashed us into, we’ve broken through the rock salt hill and begun setting up the wide pathways those… very particular merchants from the capital like. Oddom and Innod have set up temprorary facilities to create beds and the like, while Dast and Ush delve further. Mezbuth and I are breaking our backs carrying materials to our meager industries, while I believe Iden is off stalking one of the local boars. Meanwhile, more snow falls on top of the existing mounds. I hope Iden is gored so we can be done with him.

I let my eyes close and nod off for one second and suddenly I’m thrown to the side of the cart as that idiot Iden bleats at the reigns. We’re sliding sideways down a steep, snowcovered slope, with the yaks that had, just one second prior, been slowly taking us along the cliffs now watching us dissapear into the drifts, a confused look on their faces. Confused for a yak. I mean, basically, how they normally look.
We ended up in some sort of snow pit, the axles damaged beyond repair. We’ll have to set up camp here, and quickly, before we all freeze to death. Iden has taken to rolling about in the snow and quietly chuckling to himself. I still can’t believe they talked me into taking him along.
Dastot – Male dwarf miner, fond of braiding his hair, especially his elaborate sideburns, mousache, and beard. Good understanding of the physical world, can barely communicate with others.
Ushrir – Older female dwarf miner. Greying, has a lingering cough. Has a tendency to get distracted.
Inod – Female dwarf woodsman. Squat, even for a dwarf, and well built, even for a dwarf. Years in the outdoors have left her very resilient.
Oddom – Female dwarf stoneworker. Has a rather droopy face. Blunt, but produces surprisingly moving craftwork.
Iden – Male dwarf… well, he can’t hurt anybody if he’s off fishing. Shaved head with a huge black beard. On the weaker side, but just loves to fight. Cannot express himself, can’t pay attention, quick to anger, and fond of “potato wine”.
Mebzuth – Female dwarf farmer & cook. Thin face with no hair to speak of. Constantly humming to herself.
Olin – Female dwarf, designated administrator of Lotoshan. Frighteningly strong with no tolerance for pain. The only one who care about decorum at all.
